HIBC seminar at International Modern Hospital Show

Tokyo Japan (2006)

Our participation in the "International Modern Hospital Show" 2006 in Tokyo was the official start of introducing HIBC to the healthcare industry, medical personnel, and distribution / logistics experts in Japan. At our exhibition booth as well as in our presentation seminar, we explained about the differences from other existing barcodes in Japan and about the conditions for recognising all codes on a reciprocal basis. Furthermore, we talked about methods for introducing the HIBC barcode system and about possible applications.

We very much appreciated to welcome around 60 listeners to our seminar, not to mention the numerous visitors at our exhibition booth during the three exhibition days. There was especially a tremendous interest from decision makers of the logistic department of hospitals, of quality-control sections at healthcare manufacturers, but also from trading and IT service companies. While answering to their questions, we felt a significant lack of information (together with some kind of misunderstanding) about barcode solutions for the healthcare sector and the appropriate ISO guidelines.

 

With this experience, we are encouraged to strengthen our activities at J-HIBC for providing smart solutions to Japanese companies in healthcare and other sectors. Being the local address for all matters regarding HIBC in Japan, we will be cooperating closely with our mother organisation EHIBCC in Europe as well as with our partners from industry associations in Europe.
